General Information

The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans was established to provide opportunities for New Americans to achieve leadership in their chosen fields.

A successful candidate will give evidence of 1) creativity, originality, and initiative, demonstrated in any area of his/her life; 2) a capacity for accomplishment, demonstrated through activity that has required drive and sustained effort; 3) a committment to the values expressed in the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Fellows receive a maintenance grant of $20,000 and a tuition grant of one-half the tuition cost of the U.S. graduate program attended by the Fellow (up to a maximum of $16,000 per academic year).

Applicants must be "New Citizens" (defined as either resident aliens, naturalized U.S. citizens, or a child ot two parents who are naturalized citizens). College seniors or recent graduates may apply, including students in thier first or second year of graduate study.
