IPSCO Scholarship
IPSCO Inc. is offering two $1,500 scholarships to students planning
to enroll for the upcoming academic year. Applicants must be majoring
in business administration, computer science or engineering and demonstrate
an interest in working in the steel industry following their college
education. This scholarship is renewable for three additional years
provided the student fulfills the scholarship requirements. Selection
is based on academic merit and preference is given to freshman students
demonstrating financial need; however, all undergraduates will be considered.
Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
prior to March 1.

The selection committee will choose recipients based on community service performed
in the City of Ames, or Story County, Iowa area while enrolled at ISU. Applicants
must submit an essay describing the community service they have performed and
how this service has influenced their life, as well as the affect on those individuals
or parties they have served. One letter of reference is required, specifically
attesting to the student's community service activities. Selection is based

This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a student who has demonstrated
leadership and involvement in promoting lesbian, gay, bisexual, and

Scholarship
Microsoft is excited to be offering more than a half-million dollars
in scholarships for the 2006-2007 academic year. We want to encourage
students from groups currently underrepresented in the field of
computer science to pursue technical degrees. While all candidates
whom meet the criteria for eligibility described below may apply,
a large majority of our scholarships will be awarded to female students,
underrepresented minority students, and students with disabilities.
All scholarship recipients are required to complete a salaried summer
internship of 12 weeks for the Microsoft Corporation. Students eligible:
- must be enrolled full-time in a bachelor's degree program at a college or university in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.
- must be majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics.
- must maintain a GPA of 3.0/4.0 or 4.0/5.0.
To apply the student must submit a complete application including: resume, transcripts, answers to essay questions, and a letter of referral. There is no separate application for this scholarship. The essay (consisting of one page total) will answer the following questions:
- Describe how you demonstrate your passion for technology outside the classroom?
- Describe the toughest technical problem you've worked on, how you addresses the problem, your role in reaching the outcome if it was team based and the final outcome?
- Describe a situation that demonstrates initiative and your willingness to go above and beyond?
- Describe how you are currently funding your education?

Honor Society Scholarships
The National Scholars Honor Society is an academic honors organization
dedicated to actively encouraging, recognizing, and rewarding high
academic achievement in all areas of study. Scholarship eligibility

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars recognizes and celebrates the academic
achievements of its members by offering multiple scholarships to defray to

Merit
Award
Each year 50 Merit Awards in the amount of $1,000 are awarded to recipients
based on how they exemplify the three pillars of the Society: Scholarship,
Leadership, and Service. Applications are available to new members from February

This award is open to students who have achieved at least Sophomore status at

The amount of the scholarship and number of awards are dependent on our annual

Scholarship has been esstablished to provide financial assistance
to a deserving Republican female college level junior, senior or graduate
student from Scott County (Iowa) to further her education at a college
or university in Iowa. Award is $500 annual to a woman from Scott
County (Iowa). Qualifications:
1) Applicants must have a declared major of Plitical Science, Government,
History, International Relations or Public Administration, and be
enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours.

This scholarship is intended to help young men who will be attending
Iowa State University for the 2007 - 2008 academic school year. We
feel that due to the rising costs of education, organizations in our
position have a responsibility to reach out and assist fellow students
in meeting their education goals. One $500 scholarship will be given
away. The recipient of this award will be chosen based on their personal
and academic qualities, as they relate to the founding principles
of Delta Upsilon. The recipient shall have a minimum H.S. or college
GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale; a copy of your transcript will be required.
Scholarship finalists will be contacted for an interview. You need
not join Delta Upsilon Fraternity or any other Greek institution to
