Alpha Delta Kappa Sigma Chapter
Sigma Chapter of Burlington, Iowa is offering one $750 scholarship to Des Moines County undergraduates who will be or are majoring in education. American Institute of Certified Public Accountants - Accountemps Student Scholarship
Accountemps and the AICPA are offering five $2,500 one-year scholarships to eligible AICPA student affiliate members. Applicants should be an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing studies in accounting, finance, or information systems with an overall and major GPA of at least 3.0. Must be enrolled full-time and have satisfactorily completed at least 30 semester hours, including at least six semester hours (or equivalent) in accounting.

The American Scholars National Honor Society Scholarships
The American Scholars National Honor Society grants scholarships to highly qualified achievers from all academic pursuits. All scholarship funds are reserved for the exclusive use of Society members. Scholarships are funded by private grants and membership fees. State and Federal funds are not used to support the scholarship program, therefore non-members are not eligible to receive any portion of the scholarship funds.

The total number and amounts of scholarships granted are based upon the total funds available to the scholarship committee each academic year. Scholarships are distributed directly to the recipient members in the form of stipend checks and may be subject to State or Federal taxation as reportable income. Scholarship eligibility is determined for each new applicant at the time of acceptance, and is reviewed biannually.

American Society of Naval Engineers
One year scholarship awards are $2,500 for undergraduate students and $3,500 for graduate students. Application must be for support for the last year of a full-time or co-op undergraduate program or for one year of full-time graduate study leading to a designated engineering or physical science degree. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen and have demonstrated or expressed a genuine interest in a career in naval engineering.

Selection criteria will be based on the candidate's academic record, work history, professional promise and interest in naval engineering, extra-curricular activities, and recommendations of college faculty, employers, and others. Financial need may also be considered.

American Society of Women Accountants

National
The national American Society of Women Accountants will be awarding 5 scholarships for the following academic year, funded by the Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting and Robert Half International, Inc., to students who:

  • Shall be either a part-time or full-time student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or an equivalent designated post-baccalaureate certificate of accounting;
  • Shall have completed a minimum of 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours with a declared major in accounting;
  • Shall be attending an accredited college, university or professional school of accounting;
  • Need not be a member of ASWA.

Ames Chapter
The Ames Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants will be awarding scholarships ranging from $250 to $1,000 to students who:

  • Shall be either a part-time or full-time student attending a two or four year post-secondary institution;
  • Shall have completed principles of accounting with a declared major in accounting;
  • Need not be a member of ASWA.

(For the local scholarship, part-time recipients will receive a prorated amount based on semester hours).

Ames Rotary Scholarships
The Ames Rotary Foundation is seeking qualified scholars who promote the Rotary Ideal of "being thoughtful of and helpful to others in every worthwhile human activity".

Applicants must be a graduating senior or an alumnus/alumna of Ames High School or Gilbert High School. In addition, applicants must be students who are or will be enrolled in an undergraduate program at a four-year higher education institution in the State of Iowa.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit, commitment to the pursuit of learning, participation in extra-curricular or community activities, financial need, and a willingness to promote the Rotary Ideal. Spouses and children of Rotarians are not eligible to receive scholarships from the Ames Rotary Scholarship Foundation.

The amount of the scholarship shall be determined by the Foundation, but will not exceed the average yearly tuition for the four-year public higher education institutions in the State of Iowa. The Foundation anticipates awarding one or morescholarships of at least $1,000.

Archer Daniels Midland Company Scholarship
Archer Daniels Midland is sponsoring scholarships that support FFA members enrolling in a two-or four-year college or university. Scholarships are awarded for $2,500 to current or former FFA members based on academic achievement and extracurricular involvement. They are available for full-time undergraduate study in agricultural business management, finance, marketing, merchandising, sales, engineering or food science. Scholarships are non-renewable.

Blue, Robert D. Scholarship
Awards varying from $500 - $1000 are offered to Iowans attending a college/university in Iowa. Applicants are expected to demonstrate literary and scholastic ability, exhibit qualities of truth, courage and fellowship, and display moral force of character.

The applicant must be someone who has spent the majority of his/her life in Iowa. The person must also be a current high school senior or someone already enrolled in a college/university. This includes persons in graduate school. This scholarship is for one academic year only; new winners are chosen each year.

Buck, J. Ben Scholarship Fund
The J. Ben Buck Scholarship Fund is awarded to a student pursuing a health related career. To qualify, students must have achieved a cumulative 3.0 GPA in their most recent level of education. The Scholarship may be renewed provided that a 3.0 GPA is maintained during the year in which the scholarship supported the student's education.

Preference is given to students who are graduates of Ames High School. If there are no qualified graduates, then preference will be given to students who are graduates of high schools located in Story County, IA.

Carver, Roy J. Scholarship Program
 Awards are offered to full-time undergraduates with junior classification. Twenty awards are available to applicants with great potential and promise who have to work hard to make ends meet, or who are faced with debilitating circumstances in their lives. Selection is based on academic merit, potential in field of study, financial need, and the consideration of extenuating circumstances that present challenges to obtaining a degree. Awards are considered for renewal based upon meeting scholarship criteria.

Coalition of Higher Education Assistance Organizations Scholarship

The eligibility requirements for applicants are as follows:
  • Applicants must be US citizens
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale
  • Applicants must be attending a COHEAO member school
  • Only undergraduate students who are entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year are eligible to apply; freshmen are not eligible
  • Only one scholarship per family per academic year will be awarded
  • COHEAO members and their immediate family members are not eligible for COHEAO scholarships

Courtois, Peter D. Concrete Construction Scholarship
These awards are open to any undergraduate student in the United States or Canada. The student shall have achieved senior status in a four-year or longer undergraduate program in engineering, construction, or technology during the year for which the awards are presented. The awards will be made on the basis of demonstrated interest and ability to work in the field of concrete construction.

The student must have a course load of 6 or more credit hours each semester during the period for which the award is made.
The student must be a senior during the entire year for which the award is made. The student should submit application during the junior year prior to his/her senior year.
Transcripts, recommendations, and an essay must be submitted as outlined on the application form.

DEED Scholarship Program

Each year DEED awards up to ten such scholarships to university students studying in energy-related disciplines at $4,000 each. DEED scholarships support education in energy-related fields, increase awareness about career opportunities in public power, and provide assistance to DEED member sponsors. The scholarship funds may be applied to tuition, work study, hardware acquisitions, or computer time.

Distribution/Logistics, James D. Wilder Education Foundation Scholarship
The HARDI Heating & Air conditioning Ladies Organization (HALO) and the HARDI Wilder Foundation offer this student scholarship to provide financial assistance to persons who wish to continue their education in the field of supply chain management - including warehousing, logistics and distribution sales. Dwight, Tim Foundation Scholarship
Awards go to students with great potential who have overcome adversity or challenges to achieve success in their lives. Students will also be considered if they have extenuating circumstances that present challenges to obtaining a college degree.

Early Childhood Education Scholarship
One nonrenewable $500 scholarship will be awarded to a recipient in each of five counties: Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Monroe, Wayne. These one-time scholarships are being funded through Iowa Head Start - Child Care Professional Development Initiative Grant.

Applicant must be a former Head Start child or parent from one of the five counties listed above. Applicant must plan to attend college or is already attending college with the purpose of attaining a degree in early childhood education.

First Generation Scholarship
Iowa State University is offering "First Generation Scholarships" to students who are the first of their immediate family to attend college. Recipients of this award must have junior classification for the fall semester of the award year. Residents of Iowa are eligible to receive $2,500 and out-of-state students are eligible to receive $5,000 per academic year. The First Generation Scholarship can be renewed for one additional year provided the student fulfills the scholarship requirements. Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine financial need.

German Language or Studies Scholarship
This scholarships is established to promote goodwill between American and Germany. The emphasis is to encourage a student, who has lived in Adams County, Illinois to continue on in the study of the German language or studies.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have successfully completed 2 full years of academic studies at an accredited college or university.
  • Applicant must have declared a major or minor in German language or studies and be making reasonable progress in that academic course.
  • Applicant must have lived in Adams County for at least 5 years at the time of his/her application.
  • Applicant must submit college transcripts and an essay explaining his/her interests in the German language or studies. 2 references from college faculty instructors must also be submitted.

Glamour's Top Ten College Women Competition

Golden Key International Honour Society Scholarships
Ford Motor Company / Golden Key Undergraduate Scholarships
Two undergraduate scholarships are awarded at each chapter's induction ceremony: one to the outstanding junior initiate and one to the outstanding senior initiate. All new members are eligible. The new member profile form serves as the application, and the scholarship amounts vary by university. Applicants will be judged on academic achievements and extracurricular activities, including work experience and community service. These scholarships are funded by Golden Key Corporate Council member Ford Motor Company.

Gyles, John Education Fund
The John Gyles Education Awards are available each year to students in both Canada and the United States. They are the result of a private, benevolent endeavor established in 1990 with the help of a Canadian/American benefactor.

Full Canadian or American citizenship is a requirement. Awards are available to both male and female students for all areas of post secondary study. A minimum GPA of 2.7 is required. Criteria other than strictly academic ability and financial need are considered in the selection process. Selected students will receive up to $3,000.00.

Up to 40 - $1000 scholarships available to 2008 high school seniors Up to 40 - $1000 scholarships available to current college students. Who is eligible? All high school seniors working for Hy-Vee who began their employment on or before September 15, 2007 or whose parents are full-, regular-, or part-time Hy-Vee employees who have a minimum of six months employment with the company as of September 15, 2007. Current College students must have been employed at a Hy-Vee after June 1, 2007.
