Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant Program provides need-based financial aid packages to low-income students in the form of grants. Pell Grant funds may be used by students to cover any aspect of their expenses related to attending Iowa State University.
Federal Pell Grants are direct grants awarded to students with financial need who have not received their first bachelor's degree or who are enrolled in certain academic programs that lead to teacher certification or licensure. More information is available on the U.S. Department of Education Federal Pell Grant Program website.
"Pell Eligible," as mentioned in the requirements of other grants, means that the applicant must meet the eligibility requirements of the Federal Pell Grant as determined by filing the FAFSA.
The maximum Federal Pell Grant award for the 2013-2014 year is $5,645.
All eligible students will be considered for the Federal Pell Grant by filing the FAFSA.
