National Physical Science Consortium Fellowship
Since inception in 1989, NPSC has awarded 374 graduate fellowships to students studying the physical sciences. All qualified students are encouraged to apply, but emphasis will be placed on underrepresented minorities (African American; Hispanic; Native American Indian, Eskimo, Aleut; Pacific Islander - Polynesian;) and/or female.

Applicant must be studying one of the following:
- Astronomy
- Chemistry
- Computer Science
- Geology
- Material Sciences
- Mathematical Sciences
- Physics
- Chemical
- Computer
- Electrical
- Environmental
- Mechanical
- U.S. Citizenship

Applicant must be classified as one of the following:
- In their senior year with at least a 3.0/4.0 GPA
- In their first year of a grad program pursuing a Ph.D.
- In a terminal master's program (if there is no Ph.D. in that discipline at Iowa State University)
- Returning to the workforce with no more than a master's degree
Award
Award includes:
- Tuition
- Fees

Stipend:
- Years 1-4 at $12,500/yr
- Years 5-6 at $15,000/yr
- Two summers paid research employment
- Total value estimated at $156,000 to $200,000 depending on the university
