FAFSA Corrections

Electronically:

If information on the FAFSA was estimated or incorrect on the day of submission:

1. Wait until the FAFSA has been processed (around 1-3 weeks).
2. Visit http://www.fafsa.gov.
3. Click on "Make Corrections to a Processed FAFSA".
4. Choose the year for which the FAFSA was filed.
5. Enter the required information, including a Department of Education PIN.
6. Make the appropriate corrections.

Please note:

• Social Security Number and Marital Status may not be changed
• If tax information has already been provided to the ISU Office of Student Financial Aid for verification purposes, do not make any further changes. Rather, contact the office at (515) 294-2223 for necessary changes.

On Paper:

If information on the FAFSA was estimated or incorrect on the day of submission:

1. Wait approximately 2-3 weeks after submitting a paper FAFSA until a Student Aid Report (SAR) is received.
2. Make corrections to the SAR as necessary.
3. When finished, sign and mail the finished SAR to:
