Verification
What is Verification ?
Federal regulations require all universities to complete verification
on a portion of their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
applicants annually. Students may be selected for verification by the
US Department of Education or Iowa State University. Students chosen for
verification are required to provide signed copies of federal tax returns
and an Institutional Verification Form (IVF). This information will be
compared with the information provided by the student on the FAFSA, and
any necessary corrections will be made to the FAFSA. Carefully review
all of the information on the Student Aid Report (SAR) to make sure it
is correct. If there are any errors, please contact the Office of Student
Financial Aid (OSFA) at 515-294-2223 or 1-800-478-2998 with any questions.
I've been selected for verification
If you have been selected for verification please read through the below
information, based on your student classification. It is important that
you include all necessary forms and have them filled out correctly and
completely. Failure to do so will delay the processing of your
financial aid package.
If you are in the College of Veterinary Medicine
select the following link.
All other students must select either the Independent
or dependent link listed below. You are classified as dependent or independent
based on your FAFSA information. Click here to help determine
your filing status.
