IPSCO Scholarship
IPSCO Inc. is offering two $1,500 scholarships to students planning
to enroll for the upcoming academic year. Applicants must be majoring
in business administration, computer science or engineering and demonstrate
an interest in working in the steel industry following their college
education. This scholarship is renewable for three additional years
provided the student fulfills the scholarship requirements. Selection
is based on academic merit and preference is given to freshman students
demonstrating financial need; however, all undergraduates will be considered.
Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
prior to March 1.

ISU Community Service Scholarship
The selection committee will choose recipients based on community service performed
in the City of Ames, or Story County, Iowa area while enrolled at ISU. Applicants
must submit an essay describing the community service they have performed and
how this service has influenced their life, as well as the affect on those individuals
or parties they have served. One letter of reference is required, specifically
attesting to the student's community service activities. Selection is based
on financial need and students must file the FAFSA prior to March 1st to determine
individual financial need.

Keister, Shaun
B. and Walter J. Allen Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a student who has demonstrated
leadership and involvement in promoting lesbian, gay, bisexual, and
transgender student activities at Iowa State and in the promotion of
a positive identity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students
throughout the university community.
Applicant must be
a sophomore, junior, or senior with a cumulative GPA of 2.25 or higher
or a graduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. Must
not be employed as a work-study student, graduate assistant, or intern

Awards are offered to entering freshman at Iowa State University who are enrolled in the College of Agriculture or the College of Human Sciences.

Microsoft
Scholarship
Microsoft is excited to be offering more than a half-million dollars
in scholarships for the 2006-2007 academic year. We want to encourage
students from groups currently underrepresented in the field of
computer science to pursue technical degrees. While all candidates
whom meet the criteria for eligibility described below may apply,
a large majority of our scholarships will be awarded to female students,
underrepresented minority students, and students with disabilities.
All scholarship recipients are required to complete a salaried summer
internship of 12 weeks for the Microsoft Corporation. Students eligible:
- must be enrolled
full time in a bachelor's degree program at a college or university
in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.
- must be majoring in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics.
- must maintain
a GPA of 3.0/4.0 or 4.0/5.0.
To
apply the student must submit a complete application including:
resume, transcripts, answers to essay questions, and a letter of
referral. There is no separate application for this scholarship.
The essay (consisting of one page total) will answer the following
questions:
- Describe
how you demonstrate your passion for technology outside the classroom?
- Describe
the toughest technical problem you've worked on, how you addresses
the problem, your role in reaching the outcome if it was team based
and the final outcome?
- Describe
a situation that demonstrates initiative and your willingness to
go above and beyond?

how you are currently funding your education?

A maximum of $3,000 will be given to an eligible female or minority student

National Federation
of the Blind
Each year at its National Convention in July, the National Federation
of the Blind gives 30 scholarships to recognize achievement
by blind scholars. Scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $12,000 will
be awarded to mostly full-time students and one part-time student

Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) Academic Scholarship
Applicant should be pursuing a certificate, associate degree, or bachelor
degree in a foodservice-related program. The applicants must: have

National Scholars
Honor Society Scholarships
The National Scholars Honor Society is an academic honors organization
dedicated to actively encouraging, recognizing, and rewarding high
academic achievement in all areas of study. Scholarship eligibility
is determined for each new applicant at the time of acceptance, and
is reviewed biannually. Scholarships are funded by private grants
and membership fees. Scholarships are distributed directly to the
recipient members in the form of stipend checks and may be subject
to State and Federal taxation as reportable income. The scholarships

Noyes, LaVerne Scholarship
Awards are available to undergraduate students who are directly descended by
blood from veterans of World War I. The scholarships are granted for one
year at a time, although they may be renewed for a total of eight semesters,

NSCS Scholarships
The National Society of Collegiate Scholars recognizes and celebrates the academic
achievements of its members by offering multiple scholarships to defray to
cost of education.
Merit
Award
Each year 50 Merit Awards in the amount of $1,000 are awarded to recipients
based on how they exemplify the three pillars of the Society: Scholarship,
Leadership, and Service. Applications are available to new members from February
15 to July 1.
Scholar
Abroad
Two $5,000 and one $2,500 will be awarded per year (one each fall, spring,
and summer) to assist students with their study-abroad experience. Applications
for the scholarship should be made online and submitted to NSCS by the designated

This award is open to students who have achieved at least Sophomore status at
Iowa State University, who hold at least a 3.0 GPA, and who graduated from a
High School in Douglas or Sarpy Counties in Nebraska or Pottawattamie or Mills
Counties in Iowa.
The amount of the scholarship and number of awards are dependent on our annual
fundraising efforts. At a minimum one award of $250.00 will be granted annually.
If funds allow, more than one award may be granted and the award may be larger,
but not to exceed $1,000 per award. Applicants must meet the qualifications
listed above and demonstrate financial need. Applications will not be accecpted
before January 15th annually.

Rohlf, Scott Presidential Leadership Initiative Award

$1,000 scholarship is awarded to a student who has demonstrated

Royal Six Scholarship (Agriculture)
A collegiate leadership program sponsored by the American Royal Association.
Collegians interested
in being a member of the Royal Six must:
Attend a four-year accredited university
Pursue a four-year degree in an agricultural-related field
Be an incoming sophomore or junior for the fall term of the award year
After their selection,
the Royal Six will have the opportunity to travel to Kansas City
in October to speak for the American Royal about their experiences
in agriculture, to promote the agricultural industry and visit with
corporate audiences. Each member of the Royal Six will receive a
3,500 scholarship and an opportunity to attend the Agriculture Future
of America Leaders Conference in Kansas City.

Republican Women Scholarship
Scholarship has been esstablished to provide financial assistance
to a deserving Republican female college level junior, senior or graduate
student from Scott County (Iowa) to further her education at a college
or university in Iowa. Award is $500 annual to a woman from Scott
County (Iowa). Qualifications:
1) Applicants must have a declared major of Plitical Science, Government,
History, International Relations or Public Administration, and be
enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours.
2) Student's primary residence must be located in Scott County (Iowa)
3) Applicant must be a United States citizen.
4) Non-traditional students are eligible.
5) Student must be a registered member of the Republican Party.
6) Student must be involved in extracurricular activities (please

Stucky, Ralph
- Delta Upsilon Incoming Men's Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to help young men who will be attending
Iowa State University for the 2007 - 2008 academic school year. We
feel that due to the rising costs of education, organizations in our
position have a responsibility to reach out and assist fellow students
in meeting their education goals. One $500 scholarship will be given
away. The recipient of this award will be chosen based on their personal
and academic qualities, as they relate to the founding principles
of Delta Upsilon. The recipient shall have a minimum H.S. or college
GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale; a copy of your transcript will be required.
Scholarship finalists will be contacted for an interview. You need
not join Delta Upsilon Fraternity or any other Greek institution to

Talbots Women's Scholarship
Applicants to the Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund must be women currently residing
in the U.S. who have earned a high school diploma or their GED at least 10
years ago (no later than September 1996). In addition, applicants must be seeking

Truckload Carriers Association Scholarship
Any college junior or senior in good standing, who is the child, grandchild,
or spouse of an employee or an employee of a trucking company, or the child,
grandchild or spouse of an independent contractor or an independent contractor
affiliated with a trucking company and attending an accredited four-year college
or university is eligible for a scholarship.
The recipient of the scholarship must show financial need, excellent scholastic
achievement in the freshman and sophomore years (recommendation is
at least a 3.3 GPA), maintain full-time student status and be an
individual of high character and integrity. Those students pursuing
transportation and business degrees will be given special consideration.

Veterans' Education Fund
Provide up to $1,000,000 in the 2008 and 2009 academic years to help
meet the financial need of veterans from all branches of the United
States Armed Forces who served in Afghanistan or Iraq since September
11, 2007and who are now enrolled in college or vocational-technical
school. To be eligible, applicants must:

veterans of any branch of the Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force,
Marines), Coast guard, National Guard and Armed Forces Reserves. Have
served and been deployed for at least 60 days in Afghanistan or Iraq
